The countdown to the last day of school is on! The students are getting excited for summer and all of the fun activities that we have scheduled! It has been a great year and I have thoroughly enjoyed my year with the students. I love their excitement for learning and their genuine care for each other! They are truly a great group of kids and I will miss having them in my class next year!
Here are the activities for the rest of the year...4th graders and 5th graders will be participating in our annual Wiffle Ball Tournaments (see dates above). This has become a tradition here at Guadalupe and the students are excited. We held our first practice yesterday, and the kids did great! Tuesday, June 5 is the 5th grade pool party (permission slips are going home today) and 4th grade Gold Rush Day. June 6 is Olympic Day (morning) For all of these activities, please have students bring water, hats and sunscreen!
June 7 is Promotion Ceremony/last day of school. A letter with details about the Promotion Ceremony is going home today, but here are some details that may assist you (5th grade parents) in your planning. When you bring your child to school, plan on staying at school. At this point, you can save a seat at Promotion and then join us in the quad for the traditional handshake ceremony at 8:30. Students line up for Promotion at 8:50, ceremony is from 9:00-10:00, refreshments from 10:00-10:25. At 10:25, you can check out your child from school and leave for the day! Please make sure that you check out with one of the teachers that will be stationed at the entrance of school! Fourth graders will be with other classes signing yearbooks during this time, and then with me for the remaining time...can't miss out on the end of day countdown! Please remember that 4th grade isn't dismissed until 12:15!
I hope I have covered everything, but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to e-mail me!
Have a great week!
